Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started with Card Control?

Login to Online or Mobile Banking. In Online Banking, select Additional Services > Card Control. In Mobile Banking, tap More > Card Control. Review and agree to the Terms and Conditions. Now you're ready to customize your preferences!

Is there a fee to use Card Control?

No, this is a free service, however, message and data rates may apply.

Why don’t I see my card in Card Control?

It may take one business day for a card that is recently issued or activated to display in Card Control. If you recently enrolled in online or mobile banking, you will see your card in Card Control one business day after enrollment.

What happens when I turn my Debit/Credit card off?

When you change the status of your card from Active/ON to Inactive/OFF, one-time transactions using your card or card number will be declined. Recurring transactions will still process when your card is set to Inactive/OFF as will any previously authorized transactions that have not yet posted to your account. A new card will not be ordered when the card status is set to Inactive/OFF.

Why would I use Card Control to turn my card off?

In the event that you misplace your card but you know it’s not lost or stolen, you can turn the card off in Card Control and turn it back on when you find the card. If you think there is fraud on your card account, you can temporarily block the card from use and contact us to investigate.

How quickly do Card Control changes take effect?

The changes are made in real-time, so if you turn your card ON or OFF, or make other changes, they are effective immediately.

Do joint accountholders have access to Card Control?

Yes, all accountholders will be able to use Card Controls in online and mobile banking. Each accountholder has the ability to turn the card(s) on or off, set alerts and declines, set spend limits, etc.

If I have a credit card with a joint accountholder (same card number), will the Card Control preferences apply to both cards?

Yes, any settings (alerts, blocks, limits, etc.) enabled in Card Control will apply to both cards.

How do I change my alert preferences?

On the main Card Control screen, select Set Declines and Alerts. In the Send Alerts for drop-down, you can choose All Transactions (receive alerts for all card transactions), Preferred Transactions (receive alerts for individual settings you have enabled for merchant, location, or transaction type, or spend limit), or Blocked Transactions (receive alerts for transaction types you have set to block).

How do I activate alerts on my phone or email?

Phone number and email address are pulled from the Text & E-Mail Alerts setup in Online Banking. Login at myEECU.org, select Additional Services > Text & E-Mail Alerts to add/edit information. Then, to receive Push Notifications on your phone the setting must also be enabled in the mobile banking app via More > Settings; after you have enabled the setting, return to Card Control and select Alert Delivery Options for the card and toggle Push Notifications ON/OFF.
